Black Forest Commandos

The Black Forest Commandos are a specialist unit formed to detect, classify, and stop CVE monsters. Their roster spans centuries and disciplines: ancient warriors, a Black Forest scholar, a tracker, an undead assassin, a cyborg, a Valkyrie, a masked tactical operative, and a veteran captain.

Origins

The team's roots lie in the outbreak of 1865, when Gord recruited Rothütle as a local expert and joined forces with Evie.

Allied Network

The Asgard Mission demonstrates that the Black Forest Commandos are not a closed team. They integrate local and specialist allies according to the threat:

• Asgardian leaders such as Freyja and Thor
• Mithra's Persian reinforcement and sanctuary network
• Bravo Team: Azar, TahmTan, Carmilla, and Lorelei
• Artemisia and the Amazonian warriors sheltered by Mithra, who can detect host infestations

Operating Doctrine

The Black Forest Commandos do not treat every CVE as the same target. Their missions combine:

• authoritative inventory
• reconnaissance and threat classification
• identity and admission controls
• hardened perimeters
• specialized detection
• light-based exposure of shadow threats
• conventional force only after a target can be safely identified

This is defense in depth expressed as a team: no single Black Forest Commando can solve every state of the threat.

The 1865 investigation exposes Angra Mainyu, his CVE creatures, and Jack's original connection to the shadow lord. After Angra escapes, Gord assembles the Hexbreakers. That transitional team gradually becomes the Black Forest Commandos, and Jack eventually joins the organization that once pursued him.
