Gord
Gord, the ancient Persian commander who leads the Black Forest Commandos against the CVE threat.
Gord is the founder of the Hexbreakers, field commander of the Black Forest Commandos, and the strategist who has pursued the CVE threat since its emergence in the Black Forest. Mithra remembers her as an ancient Persian warrior long before the modern team existed.
From Ancient Warrior to Black Forest Commando
Gord fought in the ancient world and was granted an unnaturally long life. By 1865 she was operating in the Black Forest, where she recruited Rothütle, joined forces with Evie, and investigated the creatures now classified as CVE monsters.
The Asgard Mission
When Asgard asks for help, Gord treats the invasion as a security operation rather than a single battle. She establishes a layered plan: retake the main district, contain the infestation, identify infiltrators, and protect hardened areas from further compromise.
Gord delays the main assault until dawn because sunlight forces shadow-form CVEs into vulnerable physical bodies. At the command center she formalizes the three known threat states—Shadow, Solid, and Host Infestation—and combines the Asgard SBOM, checkpoints, reconnaissance, Amazonian detection, divine power, and conventional weapons into one defense.
Character
Reserved and intensely mission-oriented, Gord reveals plans when her team needs them rather than narrating every contingency in advance. She expresses loyalty through preparation, responsibility, and a willingness to stand in the same danger as the people she commands.
Her editorial MBTI classification, INTJ, reflects that preference for systems thinking, long-range conditions, and controlled execution.
Abilities and Equipment
- Blue Blade: Its light exposes shadow CVEs and makes them vulnerable to physical attacks.
- Swordsmanship: Gord favors controlled, decisive close-quarters combat.
- Strategic command: She turns incomplete intelligence and very different specialists into a coherent operation.
- Okterakt: A rare device associated with branching and merging timelines; its full limits remain unknown.
Key Relationships
- Rothütle: Her oldest surviving companion and an inventive counterweight to her disciplined planning.
- Evie: A trusted independent scout and marksman.
- Jack: A figure from the 1865 crisis whom Gord judges by his later choices.
- Mithra: An ally who knew Gord thousands of years before the Black Forest Commandos.
- Angra Mainyu: The architect of the threat Gord has fought since 1865.
