Deus
The enigmatic divine council member who nominates Nil, a necromancer hidden beyond a cave guarded by giant worms.
Deus is an enigmatic member of The Divine Council, convened after Angra Mainyu's escape. When Gord is ordered to expand the Black Forest Commandos, Deus proposes a candidate from beyond the familiar divine and historical circles.
The Nomination of Nil
Deus names Nil, a necromancer who lives beyond a cave guarded by giant worms. The recommendation gives Gord a destination and a warning rather than a ready ally: reaching Nil is itself part of the recruitment.
Unlike the candidates introduced through known relationships, Nil begins outside the established coalition. Gord later recruits the necromancer as an original member of the Hexbreakers. Deus' nomination demonstrates the council's willingness to search among dangerous and unconventional specialists when ordinary power is insufficient.
Place on the Council
Much of Deus' identity remains unrevealed. His appearance in The Council's Call establishes his authority within the council and his knowledge of hidden practitioners, but his origin, larger allegiance, and relationship with Nil have not yet been recorded.
