Jack's Nightmare is not an objective chronology. It plays like a corrupted audio log from Jack's overloaded mind, beginning with his human life as an American miner before country rhythms collapse into industrial metal and machine telemetry.
Cards turn his name into a recurring fault line: man, jack, wildcard, and the Buur of Swiss and German games blur together. Flesh, iron, red optics, CPU cycles, scanning, CVEs, and cryptojacking replace ordinary memory. References to Neo Hague, the North Sea data-center period, and even an impossible reading of 1985 arrive without reliable order.
The surviving connection
The nightmare supports Jack's history across Black Forest Shadow and Asgard Mission, but its contradictions belong to a damaged consciousness rather than a literal timeline. Beneath the corrupted dates and system failures, Evie remains the human anchor his mind can still find.
